Base pay range
$42,000.00/yr - $44,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Recruit volunteers through postings, community events, written communications, contact with universities, etc.
- Screen and orient volunteers to the organization’s mission and goals, providing or overseeing training.
- Ensure volunteers have access to necessary materials, including job descriptions, organizational info, and crisis support information. Review handbook annually with the Program Director.
- Develop and maintain volunteer files, providing monthly reports to the Managing Director.
- Supervise volunteers directly or coordinate with staff responsible for supervision, providing feedback and evaluations.
- Develop communication plans to support volunteers and promote retention.
- Plan and implement volunteer recognition activities.
- Develop and maintain an evaluation process for the volunteer program.
Program Support and Service Duties
- Oversee weekly calls to families, supervising volunteers and providing assistance as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention, support, information, and referrals via phone.
- Lead and report on all Survivors will Heal activities, serving as the main contact for partner locations.
- Maintain accurate weekly data for Survivors will Heal and ensure data integrity in Apricot.
- Manage requests for tabling and information sessions, coordinate with Program Director for speaking engagements, and represent the organization at community events.
- Write and distribute press releases and informational flyers, and manage social media posts.
- Collaborate with Outreach Specialist for canvassing, support groups, and vigils.
- Assist with Core Mothers management and communications as needed.
- Transport materials and set up at events and engagements.
Qualifications
- Passion for the mission of KC Mothers in Charge.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, non-profit leadership, social services, education, or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in managing events, volunteer activities, or fundraising.
- Leadership experience and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and database management.
- Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
