Job summary

Experience Champaign Urbana is seeking a dedicated coordinator for Meals on Wheels and Senior Transportation at the Senior Resource Center. This full‑time, in‑person role ensures seniors receive meals and rides to essential appointments, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will register clients, set routes, coordinate with vendors and volunteers, manage volunteer records, and support office operations while protecting privacy and delivering compassionate service to older adults.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit/social services or with older adults preferred.
• Basic MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Register clients and set Meals on Wheels routes; coordinate with vendor and volunteers.
• Coordinate Senior Transportation intake calls, schedule rides, and billing.
• Manage volunteers: interview, orient, place, maintain files, mileage.
• Support the office as needed.

What you'll do:

• Run Meals on Wheels (register clients, set routes, coordinate with vendor and volunteers, enact protocols for missed deliveries/safety checks)
• coordinate Senior Transportation (intake calls, schedule rides, support volunteer drivers, record-keeping and billing)
• manage volunteers (interview, orient, place, maintain files, process mileage, support recognition/retention)
• support the office as needed

What we're looking for:

Highly organized and reliable; excellent phone presence (patient, warm, efficient); problem solver who can improve systems; collaborative team member who protects confidentiality.

Education/experience:

High school diploma required; some college preferred; experience in nonprofit/social services or with older adults preferred; basic MS Office.

The package:

• $18.00/hour; full-time, non-exempt, 37.5 hrs/week (M-F, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
