Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and has a clean driving record.

You will transport children and LifeWise volunteers, obey traffic laws, maintain bus cleanliness and safety, perform inspections, and support a calm, caring environment for students throughout the ride.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the Statement of Faith.
• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required; School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21-80; under 75 annual CDL license and endorsement submission may be required.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and FMCSA Clearinghouse check.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random, post-accidents).
• Underwriter-approved Physician's Statement for known medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle; demonstrate a calm, caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or who are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if approved by the director.
