Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a responsible CDL bus driver to transport students to and from the LifeWise site, ensuring safety, reliability, and a calm, caring demeanor.

This position requires a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, a clean five-year driving record, and compliance with background checks, drug testing, and annual medical statements. You will inspect and maintain the bus, assist students entering and exiting, and support LifeWise teaching activities when possible.

Qualifications

• CDL driver's license with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80. Drivers above 75 must submit CDL copy and (P) endorsement annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required, including pre-employment and random tests.
• Yearly Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions.
• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise Academy beliefs.
• Must have continuously licensed for past three years.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
