The Volunteer Activities Coordinator assists with planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of statewide community recruitment activities. They assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating volunteer member orientation and activities. Responsible for pre- and post-review support activities for volunteer member review boards in Baltimore City.
Monitors CRBC volunteer applications, appointments, and reappointments. Responds to inquiries, tracks and monitors applications and required documentation (criminal and child protective services clearances, ethics forms), corresponds with applicants, and maintains the volunteer database. Assists the Information Technology Officer in monitoring, testing, and updating CRBC’s data management system that maintains data for out-of-home placements, volunteer member information, and entries for child welfare stakeholders and community partners across Maryland.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six months of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring independent judgment and analysis, in accordance with agency laws and policies, on a year-for-year basis.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Six months of experience working with volunteers statewide. Six months of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Six months of volunteer recruitment and outreach experience.
Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle. A valid Maryland driver’s license is required for such duties.

Contractual employees working 30+ hours/week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits, paying 25% of premiums. Other benefits include dental, accidental death and dismemberment, and life insurance, with employees paying full premiums for these. Leave accrues at one hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually.
