Job summary

Volo Sports is seeking a League Host/Referee in Denver to officiate volleyball games, enforce rules, and maintain a fun, fair environment. You will manage score updates, court setup, and player check-ins while engaging with the community after-hours and on weekends.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and physical stamina, with prior playing experience and a high school diploma or GED. Join a growing, community-driven organization with staff events and youth programs.

Qualifications

• Officiate volleyball games by enforcing rules and regulations.
• Make quick, accurate decisions on fouls, violations and points.
• Communicate effectively with players, hosts and officials.
• Monitor game clock, timeouts and intervals; inspect equipment.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail during play.
• Prior playing experience and knowledge of volleyball rules required.
• Ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Available to work evenings and/or weekends.
• Proficient customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Update league scores in host app.
• Encourage and maintain a quality league experience.
• Be available at least 1 day per week from 5:30pm-10:30pm for eight weeks.
• Assist with court setup and supervision.
• Use host app to check in players.
• Participate in fundraising for kids programs.
• Promote events and leagues via social media and distribute marketing materials.
• Make players feel welcome.
