Job summary

Volo Sports in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Part-Time Host & Referee for sand volleyball leagues. You’ll be the face of the league at venues, ensure safety, enforce rules, and create a welcoming environment for players.

Weekend and evening availability is required. Prior referee/umpire experience is preferred; strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills will help you succeed. Certified referees may qualify for a higher starting rate.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of the sport rules and referee/umpire experience preferred.
• Excellent communication with players and staff.
• Strong attention to detail and safety focus.
• Good teamwork and ability to work in a fast-paced league environment.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, fun, social and fair environment for all players.
• Understand and fairly enforce each sport’s rules.
• Communicate with the office regarding equipment and issues.
• Update league scores and check-in players in the UI.
• Encourage and maintain a quality experience throughout the league.
• Set up and take down field setup.
• Meet players and make them feel welcome.
