Job summary

University Volkswagen in Seattle is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our Volkswagen Service Department. You will diagnose, repair, and service vehicles, working closely with the Service Manager to ensure repairs pass quality inspections and test drives.

We welcome applicants with at least one year of automotive repair experience; ASE certifications are a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required, and you must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• One year experience in the automotive repair industry as a technician or mechanic is preferred.
• ASE and brand certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Possessorbewillingtopurchaseyourowntools.
• Attention to detail, organization, and communication skills are essential.
• Be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete service and repair assignments correctly in the specified timeframe, ensuring repairs pass quality inspections and test drives.
• Diagnose and correct mechanical and electrical problems according to manufacturer specifications.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical individuals including teammates and customers as required.
• Use manuals, computer systems, and technical bulletins to complete the repair order.
• Stay up to date on the latest technical services and dealership policies through trainings and bulletins.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area; perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with parts department to ensure parts are available and dispose of used parts properly.

The successful candidate should have experience in the diagnosis, mechanical operation, and repair of automobiles. The Automotive Technician will work closely with the Service Manager and the rest of the Volkswagen Service team.

• Coordinates with parts department to ensure parts are available to complete repair; properly disposesof usedpartsandreturnsunusedpartsto thepartspersonor location.
• Promotes the dealership by always presenting a professional image and positive attitude; demonstrates commitmenttoother staff,customers,dealership,andcompany.
• Works collaboratively with internal and external customers/provides technical assistance and support to team members as needed.

Requirements:
