Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation seeks a seasoned VoIP/telecommunications engineer to provide tier 3 engineering and support for voice networks. You will configure Cisco VoIP systems, enhance features, and develop SIP connections to external networks, ensuring secure, reliable communications for government-related projects.

Requirements include 5+ years in VoIP, a related bachelor’s degree, CCNP Collaboration, and a current Top Secret clearance. US citizenship is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a VoIP or telecommunications engineering role.

• Must be CCNP Collaborations certified.
• Hands-on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers).
• Extensive experience with Cisco tools and technologies including CUCM and Unity.
• Experience with network implementation and maintenance.
• US citizenship and current Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 3 engineering and support for voice and communications networks.
• Configure, develop, patch, STIG, enhance, and add features to Cisco VoIP system (CUCM, Unity, Ribbon VX900, IM and Presence, Teleconference Bridges).
• Develop configurations for SIP-enabled connections between VoIP and external networks (CUCM, Unity, Asterisk, Call Manager Express, SRST).
• Develop SIP configurations for connections between VoIP and client networks.

Job Description

• Provide tier 3 engineering and support for voice and communications networks.
• Configure, develop, patch, STIG, enhance, and add features to Cisco VoIP system to include Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Ribbon VX900 devices, Instant Message and Presence and Teleconference Bridges.
• Develop configurations and methods for Cisco Unified Border Elements, Session Border Controllers, and other network devices that use Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) to connect system to external voice systems.
• Develop configurations for SIP connections between the VoIP network and other customer networks including Asterisk networks, Call Manager Express, SRST, and other Cisco VoIP networks.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in a VoIP or telecommunications engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be CCNP Collaborations certified. Hands‑on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers). Extensive experience with Cisco tools and technologies including Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Unity. Experience with network implementation and maintenance. Able to demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
