Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation seeks an experienced VoIP/telecommunications engineer to provide tier 3 support for voice networks in a government contracting environment. The role focuses on configuring and enhancing Cisco VoIP systems, including CUCM, Unity, and related SIP-enabled devices.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in VoIP/telecom engineering, a Bachelor’s degree, CCNP Collaborations, hands-on network infrastructure experience, and a current Top Secret clearance. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a VoIP or telecommunications engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• CCNP Collaborations certified.
• Hands‑on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers).
• Extensive experience with Cisco tools and technologies including Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Unity.
• Experience with network implementation and maintenance.
• Able to demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties.
• Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 3 engineering and support for voice and communications networks.
• Configure, develop, patch, STIG, enhance, and add features to Cisco VoIP system to include Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Ribbon VX900 devices, Instant Message and Presence and Teleconference Bridges.
• Develop configurations and methods for Cisco Unified Border Elements, Session Border Controllers, and other network devices that use SIP to connect system to external voice systems.
• Develop configurations for SIP connections between the VoIP network and other customer networks including Asterisk networks, Call Manager Express, SRST, and other Cisco VoIP networks.

• Develop configurations for SIP connections between the VoIP network and other customer networks including Asterisk networks, Call Manager Express, SRST, and other Cisco VoIP networks.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in a VoIP or telecommunications engineering role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be CCNP Collaborations certified. Hands‑on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers). Extensive experience with Cisco tools and technologies including Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Unity. Experience with network implementation and maintenance. Able to demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties. Able to interact professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
