  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.

  • Ability to follow approved training materials and curriculum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training sessions according to approved curriculum requirements.
  • Provide practical instruction, demonstrations, and coaching in assigned trades.
  • Teach participants proper use of tools, equipment, and workplace practices.
  • Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and instructional activities.
  • Evaluate participant progress and provide feedback on skills development.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and training records.
  • Ensure training activities are conducted in a safe, organized, and professional manner.
  • Support participants in developing employment-related skills and certifications.
  • Coordinate with program management regarding training schedules, requirements, and performance updates.

Job Summary:

Ladgov Corporation is seeking qualified Vocational Training Instructors to provide hands-on workforce development training programs at the Northwestern Joint Regional Correctional Facility. The instructor will deliver structured vocational education designed to provide participants with practical skills, industry knowledge, and career preparation.

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering approved training programs, maintaining a safe and professional learning environment, and supporting participants in developing skills for future employment opportunities.

Available Training Areas:
  • Barbering
  • Carpentry
  • Horticulture/Landscaping
  • Small Engine Repair
  • Flagger Training
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct classroom and hands-on vocational training sessions according to approved curriculum requirements.
  • Provide practical instruction, demonstrations, and coaching in assigned trade areas.
  • Teach participants proper use of tools, equipment, and workplace practices.
  • Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and instructional activities.
  • Evaluate participant progress and provide feedback on skills development.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and training records.
  • Ensure training activities are conducted in a safe, organized, and professional manner.
  • Support participants in developing employment-related skills and certifications.
  • Coordinate with program management regarding training schedules, requirements, and performance updates.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the assigned vocational field (Barbering, Carpentry, Horticulture/Landscaping, Small Engine Repair, or Flagger Training).
  • Ability to teach and communicate technical skills effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow approved training materials and curriculum requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Must meet any required state-approved certification or licensing requirements for the assigned training area.
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience as a vocational instructor, trainer, mentor, or instructor in a technical trade environment.
  • Experience developing hands-on training programs.
  • Experience preparing individuals for workforce entry or career advancement.
