Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Vocational Instructor to provide instructional services in a secure facility, teaching trades such as business, computers/technology, carpentry, plumbing and related subjects. You will plan curricula, document a program of study and use instructional aids to evaluate inmate progress.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with four years of relevant trade experience or three years as an approved instructor, plus credentials; a valid driver's license and MS Office

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Four years full-time experience in the trade or three years as a certified instructor.
• Must possess or be eligible for required certification/licensing.
• Continued employment contingent on credentials.
• Ability to give clear instructions in the trade/vocational area.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Computers/Horticulture instructors may substitute a Bachelor's degree for experience.
• Minimum age 18.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and contract requirements.
• Plan and document a program of study meeting student needs and abilities.
• Provide instruction with materials; evaluate performance and issue progress reports.
