Job summary

The Salvation Army Owens Campus in Nevada seeks a full-time Vocational Job Readiness program coordinator. You will screen applicants, develop Individual Service Plans, and conduct weekly case management for clients in a vocational education setting.

Responsibilities include presenting services to the public, recruiting clients with community partners, and evaluating performance. A bachelor's degree or 2 years of relevant experience is required, with a Nevada driver's license and background check

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or related field, or 2 years relevant experience.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, e-mail, and Internet.
• Strong interpersonal, telephone, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and file management abilities.
• Ability to work in a team with other professionals.
• Self-motivated and self-directed; manage multiple projects from start to finish.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Must possess a valid Nevada driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with the academic components of vocational education.
• Screen applicants for program admissions based on established criteria.
• Complete a job readiness evaluation of each vocational client.
• Prepare an Individual Service Plan for each client.
• Conduct weekly case management on each client and prepare written case notes for client files.
• Present program services to the public and recruit clients for the Vocational Job Readiness program and coordinate all efforts to get clients enrolled with community partners.
• Perform problem resolution with clients and touch base weekly with clients who are working.
• Send monthly performance evaluations to each department for clients performing on-the-job training.
• Make classroom presentations of program materials as needed.
• Attend all vocational staff meetings.
• Knowledge of local Community Resources and prepare referrals for clients needing additional supportive services for eyewear, clothing, drug court, mandated court appearances, and NA/AA meetings.
• Prepare a discharge summary for all clients exiting the program.
• Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
