Job summary

Alight Solutions seeks an experienced Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to support employees unable to work due to disability, illness, or injury. You will assess functional abilities and vocational data to identify suitable return-to-work options.

The role emphasizes collaboration with claims teams, conducting vocational assessments and transferable skills analyses, and coordinating external services to develop individualized rehabilitation plans to promote optimal functioning.

Qualifications

• M.A./M.S./M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from CORE.
• CRC certification by CRCC required.
• Three+ years experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, disability claims, and insurance practices.
• Proficiency in TSA and LMS based programs; develop rehab plans.

Responsibilities

• Interview employees for vocational assessment purposes.
• Perform vocational assessments and transferable skills analyses with software.
• Review employer triage reports to identify return-to-work opportunities.
• Co-manage claims and coordinate with healthcare providers and employers.
• Document services and develop transition strategies and accommodations.
• Coordinate external vocational services and testing as needed.
• Consult with claims teams and participate in client engagements.
• Arrange referrals for evaluations and testing to inform rehab plans.
• Identify and address barriers to employment and create transitional plans.
• Organize records and maintain medical and eligibility information.
