Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Vocational Instructor - Career Exploration PRN to deliver vocational and occupational instruction in a secure, institutional setting. The role focuses on trades such as business, computers, carpentry, plumbing, and related career readiness skills for inmate students.

Responsibilities include designing course objectives, documenting study plans, delivering instruction with diverse materials, and evaluating student progress per contract requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Five years of wage-earning experience in the subject trade or career readiness in past eight years.
• Must possess current trade certification or be eligible for licensure per Tennessee requirements.
• Ability to give clear instructions in the trade or vocational area.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives in line with curriculum standards.
• Plan and document a program of study matching student needs.
• Provide instruction using handouts, texts and audiovisual aids; evaluate progress and issue reports.
