Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Vocational Instructor to provide instructional services in vocational and technical trades for inmates/students within a secure setting. The role focuses on delivering curriculum-aligned courses and helping learners acquire practical skills.

The instructor will plan lessons, assess progress, and provide support to students while maintaining compliance with contract requirements and safety standards in a correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• Five years of full-time experience in the vocational trade or career readiness skills.
• Must have current trade certification or be eligible for licensure.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and applicable requirements by contract.
• Plan and document a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of students.
• Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual aids and other materials. Evaluate students' performance and issue progress reports as required.
