Job summary

CoreCivic is seeking a Vocational Instructor to provide high-quality vocational education in a secure, institutional setting. The role focuses on helping inmates develop practical skills in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and business, aligning with contract requirements.

You will prepare objectives, plan curricula, deliver instruction using diverse materials, and evaluate progress with progress reports while maintaining safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three years of full-time, wage-earning experience in the subject vocational trade or in career readiness skills to include technical trade experience.
• Eligible for Georgia PSC, NCCER, or comparable credentialing in the instruction area.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and contract requirements.
• Plan and document a program of study that meets the individual needs and abilities of students.
• Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual aids and other materials. Evaluate students' performance and issue progress reports as required.
