Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking a CPP & Counseling Manager in Washington, DC, to lead the vocational counseling unit within the Job Corps program. You will ensure counseling services are available for trainees across Academic and Career Technical Training areas, while guiding counselors in caseload management and documentation.

You will hold weekly case conferences with the Mental Health Consultant, ensure policy compliance, and support group counseling initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 15 semester hours of instruction in social services-related instruction.
• Five years' experience in counseling or related field, and two years' experience working with youth and young adults.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• The CPP & Counseling Manager manages vocational counseling unit to ensure that needed counseling services are available for and provided to all trainees in Academic and/or Career Technical Training areas.
• Projects ongoing management and guidance to counselors in caseload management, case documentation and counseling techniques.
• The CPP & Counseling Manager holds weekly case conferences, utilizing the services of the center Mental Health Consultant and ensures that the counseling program is in accordance with Job Corps policy.
• Assists counselors in group counseling.
• Ensures counseling case documentation is up-to-date and available for DOL and corporate audits.
• Observes SST training sessions and makes recommendations for improvement.
• May maintain an individual trainee caseload and maybe assigned Counselor on Duty for the weekends in a rotational order.
