Job summary

Eckerd Connects is seeking an Admissions Counselor to drive outreach and direct recruitment for our Job Corps programs in the Potomac area of Washington, DC. You will determine applicant eligibility and support enrollment across residential and non-residential offerings.

Responsibilities include building referral networks, attending events, interviewing candidates, and maintaining accurate enrollment documentation in accordance with policy and government directives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or
• Associate's degree in a related field plus related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions or outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.
• Valid State driver's license with acceptable driving record (preferred).
• Must pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• The Admissions Counselor is responsible for conducting outreach and direct recruitment activities, interfacing with other outreach contractors, and determining student qualifications for enrollment in support of the center's residential, non-residential, and Other Training Provider (OTP) programs in compliance with government and management directives.
• Attend, exhibit, and present at designated events including neighborhood and county activities/fairs, job fairs, resource fairs, and other events as directed by management.
• Develop and maintain linkages with referral sources such as colleges, school districts, human services agencies, youth organizations, recreational centers, DOL, and other agencies to identify potential students and conduct outreach activities.
• Interview potential candidates to obtain information to support eligibility and complete applicant folders.
• Complete all required documentation in individual folders for enrollment per program requirements.
