Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing is seeking a part-time and/or per diem Vocational Nursing Instructor to support evenings and/or weekends. The role involves visiting clinical sites, teaching both lecture and clinical rotations, and updating course materials while ensuring compliance with nursing education standards.

Qualifications include RN or LVN licensure in the applicable state, 3 years RN bedside or 6 years LVN bedside experience, and willingness to stay current with CE hours and regulatory

Qualifications

• Must hold RN or LVN licensure in the state where teaching will occur.
• 3 years bedside RN experience or 6 years bedside LVN experience or equivalent.
• Preferred: immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Visit clinical sites for teaching and supervision.
• Review and implement innovative teaching methodologies.
• Assist with syllabus review and course updates.
• Submit program reports to the Director on time.
• Maintain current student records and clinical requirements.
• Teach lectures and clinical rotations at varied times/locations.
• Participate in professional development and CE hours.

Job Description

We are looking for a part-time and/or per diem Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team. This position will be evenings and/or weekend clinical support

• Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites

  • Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
  • Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
  • Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
  • Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
  • Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
  • Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
  • Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
  • Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
  • Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
  • Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
  • Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay Range

The hourly pay range for this position is $48.00 (minimum), $55.00 (Maximum)

*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR
  • 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associates Degree
• Preferred: current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
