Artifintech is seeking a VMware & Cloud Support Engineer to maintain and enhance enterprise virtualization environments across VMware and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role ensures high availability, security, and performance in a hybrid infrastructure.

You will manage ESXi/vCenter/vSphere, support cloud services, and implement backup and DR strategies. Strong scripting, documentation, and collaboration with DevOps and Networking teams are essential.

Competenze

• VMware ESXi/vCenter/vSphere/vSAN familiarity and hands-on experience.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) fundamentals and monitoring.
• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls and load balancers.
• Experience with backup solutions (Veeam/Commvault/Rubrik).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and documentation practices.
• Scripting proficiency: PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and communicate clearly.

Role Overview:

The VMware & Cloud Support Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving enterprise virtualization environments built on VMware technologies, along with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security across hybrid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• VMware Administration — Manage ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, resource pools, DRS/HA, vMotion, and storage integrations.
• Cloud Platform Support — Provide operational support for AWS/Azure/GCP services, including compute, storage, networking, IAM, and monitoring.
• Incident & Problem Management — Diagnose and resolve virtualization and cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Performance Optimization — Monitor system health, tune workloads, and optimize resource utilization.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery — Implement and support backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, etc.) and DR strategies for virtual and cloud workloads.
• Security & Compliance — Apply patches, enforce security baselines, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Automation & Scripting — Use PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Terraform to automate routine tasks and deployments.
• Documentation — Maintain detailed SOPs, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaboration — Work with DevOps, Networking, Security, and Application teams to support business initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• VMware Expertise — ESXi, vCenter, vSphere, vSAN, NSX (preferred).
• Cloud Knowledge — AWS/Azure/GCP fundamentals, cloud networking, IAM, monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• VMware VCP (Data Center Virtualization or Network Virtualization)
• CompTIA Cloud+, Network+, or Security+
• ITIL Foundation

Experience Requirements:

• 2–6 years of hands‑on experience with VMware virtualization.
• 1–4 years of experience supporting cloud environments.
• Experience in enterprise IT support or infrastructure operations.
