Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a systems engineer to maintain and modify the VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x environment across a multi-site enterprise. The role involves independent work through all phases of operating environment systems, testing, debugging, and documenting deployments.

You will evaluate new infrastructure products, lead moderate-impact projects, and provide on-call support while ensuring cyber security policies are followed and knowledge is shared with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years related experience or 8 years total experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist or perform installation, implementation and maintenance of VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x and related management modules in a complex enterprise multi-site environment.
• Maintain VMware server systems; participate in teams to evaluate, test and install enterprise systems programs.
• Provide technical assistance to designers and implementers of enterprise server hardware/software systems.
• Assist server operations and support personnel as well as vendor specialists in resolving VMware Cloud Foundation related issues.
• Monitor performance of enterprise server systems; isolate and improve efficiency via software changes or hardware reconfiguration.
• Evaluate and make recommendations to enterprise server hardware/software systems.
