Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Counter Sales Representative with VMI in Longview, TX to balance high-energy customer interactions with operational support. You will assist customers, process quotes, handle payments, and coordinate deliveries while maintaining showroom order and branch inventory.

You will build relationships, learn product lines, and use CRM tools to support customers in a fast-paced industrial environment. Benefits start after 30 days and include Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of inside sales or customer service experience, preferably in industrial gases or related industry.
• Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software (Salesforce).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for occasional site visits.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and assists walk-in and phone customers, identifying needs and locating merchandise.
• Processes sales, quotes, and other important information with timely documentation.
• Enters sales & quote data into the system and researches information for customers.
• Processes payments and enters sales data accurately.
• Organizes and restocks store merchandise; maintains showroom presentation.
• Coordinates delivery and replenishment of industrial products and vending items.
• Monitors and maintains branch inventory levels for replenishment.
• Delivers and replenishes products to customers; assists with basic troubleshooting of vending systems.
• Supports stock level reviews and timely reorders across plant departments.
• Regularly handles up to 60 lbs and up to 125 lbs with equipment.
