Job summary

The Sharon at SouthPark in Charlotte, NC seeks a Health & Fitness Manager to lead a comprehensive fitness and aquatics program for residents and staff. You will work with the Director of Vitality and Well-being to create, implement and evaluate activities that promote a culture of vitality and well-being.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Exercise Science or related field, relevant certifications, and 5–10 years of experience managing fitness programs for older adults in similar settings.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field required. Masters preferred.
• Certifications from ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, IDEA, or NASM required.
• 5-10 years of experience in the administration, management, supervision, program development/planning/implementation of a fitness/aquatics program preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience working with older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company in a positive manner and promote safety and well-being for residents and staff.
• Manage fitness/aquatics staff including hiring, evaluation, and promotion.
• Design, implement and oversee fitness/aquatics programs.
• Oversee Vitality Discovery process and conduct Senior Fitness Tests.
• Maintain participation data and report to DVW and Wellness department.

Education
