Job summary

The University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients safely between units and diagnostic areas. The role includes assembling/disassembling traction equipment and supporting infection control and patient care teams.

Under RN supervision, you will handle transfers, respond to codes, and help maintain bed storage and equipment readiness; involvement with Blood Bank pickups and specimen transport is included where required.

Qualifications

• Read/write at an 8th grade level; testing required.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prefer minimum of one-year recent experience in an acute care hospital.
• Basic Life Support certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transfers, turning and positioning of patients.
• Transport patients to clinical units and diagnostic areas.
• Respond to Code Blue and Code Stroke as directed by medical staff.
• Maintain and organize bed storage areas and equipment.
• Assist with setup of the viewing or morgue area as needed.
