Job summary

Torrance Memorial is seeking a Transporter to move patients between care areas under RN direction. You will support EKGs, assist on the unit, and help with secretary duties when not actively transporting.

Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, protecting privacy, and ensuring charts accompany patients. You will also respond to call lights and participate in emergent situations per hospital policy.

Qualifications

• Transports patients between care areas and assists with moving on/off gurney.
• Maintains patient privacy and charts accompany patients during transfer.
• Performs basic unit secretary tasks when not transporting or performing EKGs.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between care areas and verifies patient identity.
• Operates gurney with safety rails; ensures privacy and chart continuity.
• Assists with EKGs and supports unit secretary duties as needed.
• Responds to patient calls and coordinates with nursing staff and physicians.
• Adheres to infection control and isolation policies and participates in code events.
