Organizational Profile

At The Global Orphan Project, our mission is to break the orphan cycle by addressing its root causes, relational and economic, strengthening families before breakdown occurs. We believe the God designed the as the foundation of society. When families fracture, children pay the highest price, often entering destructive downstream systems such as street life, prison, and human trafficking.

When our ministry began, we sought to respond to this crisis by building physical orphanages around the world. But along the way, we discovered something that changed our trajectory: up to 90% of children living in orphanages globally have at least one living parent who could care for them if they had the means. Many were placed in orphanages not because of abuse or abandonment, but because their parents, often single mothers, felt unable to provide for them.

We soon recognized the same reality in our own nation. In the richest country the world has ever known, the leading reason children enter foster care is not abuse, it's neglect, most often tied to poverty.

This conviction drives us today: to come alongside families, churches, and communities, offering hope and tangible solutions so that children can grow up in a loving family. We achieve this through preventative platforms. Preventative platforms are a bottom-up, community-based, family-strengthening approach that creates strategic and effective local interventions that stop family breakdown before it starts at scale.

Position Summary

The GO Project Visual Storyteller is a high-capacity creative contributor whose primary role is connecting donors to the children, families, and local partners whose lives they are changing. Through video and photography, this role creates the emotional experiences that turn a donor into a committed advocate and nurtures our connection with existing advocates. As part of the responsibilities of this role, the Visual Storyteller will develop and execute strategies for more immersive ways of storytelling, such as VR/360 formats, that transport our audience to see firsthand the impact our local partners have.

Primary functions include pre-production planning, shooting, editing, and delivering original story content across multiple formats. This role also collaborates with contractors in the field where GO Project’s local partners serve, requiring both remote meetings and periodic travel to build field media capability. Asset management, b-roll collection, and creating finished pieces for a variety of media will be essential to the success of this role.
