The Minnesota Star Tribune offers a 10-week summer visual producer internship at our Minneapolis headquarters. We seek talented college juniors, seniors and graduate students with strong news sense and visual acumen.
Interns are paid $21.25/hour and can apply for apprentice positions after completion. Interns should have some still photography/video editing experience, familiarity with Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, and ideally Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere.

We offer a 10-week summer visual producer internship at our headquarters in Minneapolis MN. We select talented, driven college juniors, seniors and graduate students with a strong news sense and visual acumen. We expect our interns to come to us with skill and leave with polish and invaluable experience from a major-market newsroom. Interns are paid $850 a week. Interns may be able to apply for any available apprentice positions at the completion of their internship.

We expect our visual producing interns to:
All candidates must have some still photography/video editing experience, and a strong sense of organization and time management. While we welcome photographers to the department, the internship will be in daily photo editing and department production assistance. We expect a familiarity with all forms of social media for newsgathering and distribution.
Qualifications:
We select talented, driven collegejuniors, seniors and graduate students. Candidates for the position should show a strong, developing visual sense for still images and video. Knowledge of audio production is an advantage.
Candidates should be well-versed with Photoshop and Photo Mechanic. Familiarity with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and audio editing software is a plus.
Top candidates can demonstrate they’re ready to make the most of this opportunity. The term will be early June to early August.
