The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking dynamic journalism interns for the Minneapolis headquarters. Interns cover breaking news and enterprise stories, writing with polish and gaining experience in a major-market newsroom. Interns are paid $21.25/hour and may apply for apprenticeships after the summer.

We offer 10-week summer reporting internships at our headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. We select talented, driven college juniors, seniors and graduate students who can cover breaking news, as well as write enterprise stories. We expect our interns to come to us with skill and leave with polish and invaluable experience from a major-market newsroom. Interns are paid $850 a week. Interns may be able to apply for any available apprenticeships at the completion of the summer.

Qualifications:
We select talented, driven college juniors, seniors and graduate students. Excellent communication and writing skills, flexibility and the ability to handle deadline pressure are all crucial in this job. We also value candidates who are proficient with web research tools, social media tools and InCopy or similar publishing software. Skills working with data, including analysis and building digital visualizations, are a plus.
Applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
The internship typical runs early June to early August.
