Title: Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience

Stoney Clover Lane | Full-Time

Location: NYC Headquarters (Hybrid) | Travel Required

POSITION OVERVIEW

Stoney Clover Lane is looking for a Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising & Retail Experience to lead how our brand looks, feels and comes to life in our stores. The role covers everyday merchandising and windows as well as the full in-store customer experience, seasonal launches, corporate events, pop-ups and special activations. This is a hands-on role with equal parts creative direction and execution. You’ll take ideas from concept all the way to the finished floor: building the plan, sourcing the materials, setting the displays and making sure every store and event looks right on launch day. You’ll spend as much time on the sales floor, on ladders and at event setups as at your desk. You’ll work closely with Store Managers, Retail Leadership, and the Creative, Marketing and Events teams so that every experience feels cohesive, inspiring and unmistakably Stoney Clover Lane. We’re looking for someone with a strong creative eye, a commercial understanding of retail merchandising, and the follow-through to deliver across multiple stores, projects and deadlines at once.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE
  • Based at our NYC headquarters on a hybrid schedule: four days in the office and one remote day during non-travel weeks.
  • Travel to our stores in New York City, East Hampton, Palm Beach, Nashville, Charleston, Newport Beach and Tampa, and to off-site events, approximately 50% of the time.
  • Evenings, overnights and weekends as needed for floor sets, window installs, launches, store openings and events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Visual Merchandising & Store Execution

  • Own the visual merchandising direction across all Stoney Clover Lane retail locations, from concept through installation, ensuring a consistent, elevated and engaging brand experience.
  • Develop and personally execute merchandising strategies for everyday product presentation, seasonal collections, new launches, collaborations and window displays.
  • Lead and physically set key floor sets, window installations and seasonal changeovers, especially in flagship locations and during major launches.
  • Create visual guidelines, floor plans, display mockups and merchandising directives that can be implemented consistently across stores.
  • Partner closely with Store Managers to execute visual initiatives, working side by side in stores to train, give feedback and provide ongoing support.
  • Conduct regular store visits and virtual reviews to maintain visual standards, fix issues on the spot and ensure timely execution.
  • Adapt visual concepts to each store’s layout, inventory levels and customer needs while keeping the brand consistent.
  • Balance creative storytelling with commercial goals, using product placement and displays to drive customer engagement, product discovery and sales.
  • Work with the Retail and Merchandising teams to align visual priorities with product performance, inventory and key selling opportunities.

In-Store Experience

  • Shape and implement the end-to-end in-store customer journey, from storefront and entry moments to the fitting room, customization stations, checkout and packaging.
  • Design, build out and refine the customization experience, including patch bars, embroidery and personalization, so it’s easy to shop, visually engaging and on brand.
  • Partner with Retail Leadership to set and roll out experience standards such as store atmosphere, music, lighting, signage and wayfinding.
  • Use customer feedback, store observations and sales data to find improvements to the in-store experience, then make them happen.

Events, Pop-Ups & Special Activations

  • Partner with the Events, Marketing, Creative and Retail teams to develop and deliver visual concepts for in-store events, corporate events, pop-ups, brand activations and special experiences.
  • Own the merchandising and styling for these initiatives from start to finish, including product presentation, layouts, signage, fixtures, props and overall setup.
  • Be on site to style, build and set up key events and activations. Manage load-in, installation and breakdown alongside on-site teams and vendors.
  • For events you can’t attend, create detailed execution plans, mockups and setup guidelines so Store Managers, on-site teams and vendors can bring the vision to life. Oversee remotely by reviewing setup photos and directing fixes until the presentation meets brand standards.
  • Find opportunities for memorable visual moments that enhance the guest experience, showcase products and encourage engagement.

Creative Collaboration & Brand Experience

  • Work with the Creative and Marketing teams to turn campaigns, seasonal themes and brand storytelling into compelling physical retail experiences.
  • Develop and build creative ways to showcase Stoney Clover Lane products and customization offerings, including patches, embroidery and personalized experiences.
  • Bring fresh ideas for displays, windows, fixtures and visual moments, along with a realistic plan to produce and install them.
  • Make sure visual concepts reflect the Stoney Clover Lane aesthetic while staying practical, scalable and executable across different spaces.

Visual Operations & Project Management

  • Manage the planning, sourcing, production, shipping and installation of visual materials, signage, props and fixtures for stores and events.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of visual assets and look for ways to reuse and repurpose materials.
  • Own visual merchandising budgets, vendor relationships, production timelines and project deliverables, and be accountable for on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Build and manage the visual merchandising calendar so stores are set and ready for seasonal transitions, launches and key retail moments.
  • Lead visual planning, build-out and installation for new store openings, remodels and temporary retail spaces.
WHAT YOU BRING

  • A bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A portfolio of visual merchandising work you’ve both conceived and executed, such as store displays, windows or retail activations.
  • A proven track record of taking creative concepts from idea to finished installation, on time and on budget.
  • Hands-on installation skills: setting floors, building windows, styling fixtures and working with props, tools and ladders.
  • Experience shaping customer-facing retail experiences beyond visual displays, such as store environments, customization or service moments.
  • A strong creative eye and an understanding of color, composition, product presentation and visual storytelling.
  • A commercial understanding of how visual merchandising influences customer behavior and sales.
  • The ability to turn creative concepts into clear, actionable plans that others can carry out.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with Store Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including managing vendors, budgets and production timelines.
  • A doer’s mindset: proactive, solutions-oriented and comfortable rolling up your sleeves.
  • A real passion for fashion, accessories, design and creating memorable retail experiences.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb ladders, and lift and carry fixtures, props and product.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Ideas that make it from the mood board to the sales floor fully executed, on time and on budget.
  • A consistent, elevated visual identity and customer experience across all Stoney Clover Lane retail locations.
  • Store Managers who feel supported and confident carrying out visual merchandising initiatives.
  • Smooth execution of seasonal launches, floor sets and retail transitions.
  • Well-executed corporate events, pop-ups and brand activations, whether run on site or remotely.
  • Compelling displays that support product storytelling, customer engagement and sales.
  • Clear processes, organized visual assets and efficient collaboration across teams.
  • A retail experience that keeps evolving while staying true to the creativity, personalization and playful spirit of Stoney Clover Lane.
