Job summary

Stoney Clover Lane in East Hampton, NY is seeking a Key Holder to lead by example on the sales floor and support the Store Manager. You will open/close, assist with onboarding, restock, maintain visual standards, and deliver a premium guest experience.

You’ll manage daily shifts, help with high-volume periods, train new team members, and ensure schedules meet business needs while upholding brand standards. This role offers part-time or full-time hours and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

As a Key Holder, you demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and take on additional responsibilities in support of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. You are responsible for opening and closing the store, supporting the team during high-volume periods, assisting with the onboarding and development of new employees, and serving as the Manager on Duty when store management is not present.

A Day in the Life

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience on the sales floor, assisting guests with product selection and customization.
• Greet every guest with enthusiasm and introduce them to the Stoney Clover Lane brand, concept, and experience.
• Handle guest questions and concerns calmly and professionally, keeping the guest’s best interest in mind.
• Utilize the Point of Sale (POS) system to process purchases, payments, refunds, exchanges, and gift cards.
• Open and close the store in accordance with established company procedures.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are not present.
• Complete daily store walkthroughs and support visual merchandising and sell-through assessments.
• Restock merchandise throughout the day and maintain the store’s visual standards.
• Understand daily and weekly sales goals and work with the team to achieve established targets.
• Utilize effective sales techniques and actively sell on the floor.
• Engage in clienteling and relationship-building activities to strengthen guest loyalty.
• Complete assigned inventory responsibilities, including receiving and processing merchandise, identifying discrepancies, and supporting stock-level management.
• Maintain an organized and efficient back of house.
• Assist with community outreach, special events, trunk shows, and pop-ups as needed.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with guests and team members while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Support the management team in implementing merchandising, operational, and brand standards.
• Assist and provide direction to team members during high-volume periods and changing business needs.
• Support the training and onboarding of new team members.
• Demonstrate strong time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and adapt to the day-to-day needs of the business.
• Help ensure the store remains clean, organized, safe, and guest-ready at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail experience; previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong customer-service and team-focused mindset.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and provide direction to team members.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale systems.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable and punctual with the ability to maintain regular attendance.
• Open availability, including the ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and during peak business periods as needed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; post-secondary education is considered an asset.
• Ability to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance consistent with company standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Part-Time: Approximately 20–24 hours per week.
• Full-Time: Approximately 32–40 hours per week.
• Hourly rate of $18-$22 per hours depending on experience.
• Weekly schedules are subject to change based on business needs, peak seasons, events, and store coverage requirements.
