Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) invites applications for a Special Education Teacher - Visual Impairment in Anthem, AZ. You will develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with staff and families, and support students to reach their potential in an engaging school setting.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, AZ Special Education Certificate, AZ Teaching Licensure, related certifications, and experience with K-12 and IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• Special Education Certificate per AZ DOE requirements.
• Arizona Teaching Licensure is required.
• Specific additional certification may be required depending on role.
• Experience with IEP writing, meetings, and K-12 settings.
• Strong collaboration with staff and families is expected.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute IEPs for each student in your care.
• Communicate progress and struggles to families and staff.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and obtain approval from administrators.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to support progress.
• Invite family members to participate in educational progress.
• Create and distribute quarterly progress reports.
• Collaborate with on-site therapists on disciplinary and behavioral issues.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
