Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a Special Education Teacher for the Visually Impaired to join our team in a vibrant school setting. You will develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with families and staff, and plan engaging lessons to support student growth.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, TX Special Education certification, and experience with IEP processes and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Special Education Certificate per TX DoE requirements.
• Experience with IEP writing and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute IEPs for each student in your care.
• Communicate progress and challenges with staff and families.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit for administrator approval.
• Participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use individualized reinforcement techniques to promote progress.
• Invite family members to participate in educational progress.
• Create and distribute quarterly progress reports.
• Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students.
• Create a safe, productive classroom environment.
