Job summary

Alabama State Council on the Arts in Montgomery seeks a Visual Arts Program Manager to lead grants, programs, and partnerships that support visual artists and arts organizations across Alabama.

The successful candidate will supervise the Exhibitions and Digital Production Specialist, develop statewide field engagement, and advance ASCA’s Georgine Clarke Alabama Artists Gallery while collaborating with diverse partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Art education or related field.
• Two years of experience developing and managing work in a visual arts discipline.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grants, programs, and activities within ASCA’s Visual Arts program.
• Provide equitable, professional technical assistance to applicants throughout the grant process.
• Develop statewide field engagement and partnerships to strengthen Alabama’s visual arts ecosystem.
• Coordinate exhibitions and gallery programming through the Georgine Clarke Alabama Artists Gallery.
• Supervise staff and ensure project timelines and deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with communications staff to share information about visual arts programs and events.
