Job summary

The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston is seeking a Visual Arts Program Coordinator to lead and grow the center’s visual arts offerings. The role includes managing the Art Gallery season, expanding classes for all ages, teaching and coordinating summer art programs, and supporting innovative community projects.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in visual arts or related field, 2–3 years of coordinating arts programs, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, Fine Arts, Arts Administration, Museum Studies, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience coordinating visual arts programs or teaching art classes.
  • Experience with multiple art mediums (drawing, painting, ceramics, mixed media, digital art).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Art Studio and Ceramics Studio operations and safety.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard art instructors.
  • Lead the Art Camp program in summer and teach classes.
  • Coordinate seasonal schedule of art classes for all ages.
  • Develop class syllabi, descriptions, and supply lists with instructors.
  • Track program expenses and procure supplies.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to promote classes and events.
  • Curate and schedule 4–6 exhibitions annually for the Art Gallery.
  • Plan opening receptions and gallery events.
  • Coordinate tours for visiting groups.
