Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a Senior Director for AEIVA, serving as the chief ambassador and leader for the AEIVA arts program. The candidate will cultivate relationships with artists, donors, faculty, and communities to advance a unified arts vision across multiple levels.

They will supervise staff, manage budgets, and work with the AEIVA Curator to create exhibitions with national and international visibility while expanding the permanent collection and related educational

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Curatorial Practice, or related field.
• Seven years of related experience required.
• Experience in a higher education environment encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations, budgetary management, staff supervision and overall creative direction of AEIVA.
• Collaborates with AEIVA Curator to conceive, develop and execute exhibitions and related educational programming with national/international visibility.
• Plans and executes strategic growth of the AEIVA Permanent Collection.
• Liaises with UAB Arts Departments and stakeholders to advance AEIVA initiatives.
• Engages donors, community partners, faculty, students, and national/international audiences.
