AmeriCorps & Senior Corps seeks an individual for a VISTA program in California to help expand services for low-income communities. The role focuses on building capacity, developing fundraising infrastructure, and increasing visibility for Step Up's mentoring and career readiness resources.
You will support cohort development, training design, data collection, and sustainability efforts across multiple sites.
Step Up's VISTA project is organized around three strategic pillars: Resource Innovation, Scalable Reach, and Brand Prominence. Each pillar addresses a specific organizational barrier limiting Step Up's ability to reach low-income girls and young women at scale: insufficient fundraising infrastructure, insufficient community infrastructure to enter new markets, and insufficient visibility to ensure young people in those markets know Step Up exists. The project will seek to build the organizational capacity, community infrastructure, and fundraising systems needed to expand Step Up's programming into new markets, develop a partnership model for young women and teen girls, schools and districts and elevate Step Up's national visibility to ensure young people in low-income communities across the country can access the mentorship and career readiness resources they need to move out of poverty and into economic self-sufficiency.
Member Support and Cohort Building: strengthen cohort connection and member support so that members complete their full term of service; Training and Professional Development: design and deliver a training series that improves members’ ability to achieve their VAD objectives; Data Collection and Impact Storytelling: establish a system to track member progress and demonstrate project impact; Recruitment and Program Sustainability: help recruit and prepare the next cohort and document the project’s processes
