AmeriCorps & Senior Corps seeks to strengthen Step Up's VISTA project by developing a methodology to stay connected with program participants after completion and by building regional dashboards for real-time performance insights. The role focuses on identifying impactful data points for compelling storytelling in collaboration with the Communications team.
Responsibilities include coordinating with regional directors and city coordinators to track enrollment, outcomes, and mentor engagement,
Step Up's VISTA project is organized around three strategic pillars: Resource Innovation, Scalable Reach, and Brand Prominence. Each pillar addresses a specific organizational barrier limiting Step Up's ability to reach low-income girls and young women at scale: insufficient fundraising infrastructure, insufficient community infrastructure to enter new markets, and insufficient visibility to ensure young people in those markets know Step Up exists. The project will seek to build the organizational capacity, community infrastructure, and fundraising systems needed to expand Step Up's programming into new markets, develop a partnership model for young women and teen girls, schools and districts and elevate Step Up's national visibility to ensure young people in low-income communities across the country can access the mentorship and career readiness resources they need to move out of poverty and into economic self-sufficiency.
Create a methodology for staying connected to program participants after they leave Step Up's programming, capturing post-program outcomes (college enrollment, first job placement, earnings trajectory over time) that are currently difficult to track at scale; Develop regional reporting dashboards —visual, accessible reports that give Regional Directors, city coordinators, and senior leadership a real-time view of program performance in each market: enrollment trends, completion rates, mentor match quality, employer engagement levels; Identify compelling data points for narrative use —in close coordination with Communications –identify the statistics, trends, and comparisons in Step Up's data that are most powerful for storytelling
