Job summary

American Conservation Experience (ACE) seeks a Visitor Services Member to support visitor services, environmental education, and a new volunteer program at Humboldt Bay NWR. The role involves engaging the public, coordinating events, and assisting with regional outreach across refuges in the Pacific Southwest.

You will gain experience in refuge operations, including biology and habitat management, while contributing to long-term program improvements and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States; ACE does not sponsor employment visas.
• Professional, positive, enthusiastic presentation of ACE & partner organizations.
• Self-directed and able to work alone while contributing to a team.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record; must be 21+ to drive.
• Will complete bi-weekly timesheets, feedback forms, and evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and answer visitor questions about recreation opportunities, wildlife viewing, habitats, and resources.
• Support the development and implementation of a Volunteer Trail Steward Program.
• Assist staff with public programs, community outreach, education activities, and events.
