Job summary

American Conservation Experience (ACE), in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, seeks 1 Visitor Services Member for Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge to enhance visitor services and environmental education.

The role involves developing a volunteer program, delivering education programs, and supporting outreach across multiple refuges in the Pacific Southwest Region. The position is primarily at Stillwater NWR with regional travel.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience or interest in visitor services, education, and community outreach.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Willing to travel to refuges within Nevada/California as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and answer visitor questions about recreation opportunities, wildlife viewing, habitats and natural resources.
• Create educational materials for a new trail.
• Assist with education and youth programs.
• Assist with public programs, community outreach, education activities and events.
• Conduct outreach promoting responsible recreation and connections with public lands.
• Travel to refuges in Nevada/California to support visitor services and events.
• Gain experience in other refuge operations when possible.
• Support professional development and networking across refuges.
