Job summary

Indiana University South Bend's Theatre and Dance Department seeks a Visiting Lecturer in Theatre, Technical Design to begin August 15, 2026. The role combines teaching with hands-on leadership as Technical Director/Scene Shop Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher, or equivalent work experience.
• Theatre in Design and/or Technical Production; or related field (masters or above) with experience in theatre.
• Budgeting and time management skills.
• General computer skills and proficiency in Vectorworks.
• Professional production experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach as Visiting Lecturer in Theatre and serve as Technical Director/Scene Shop Supervisor.
• Develop and teach courses within specialty as well as general theatre courses (Introduction to Theatre, Stagecraft, Practicum, etc.).
• Mentor students and oversee the operation and maintenance of scenic construction and storage facilities.
• Maintain the operating budget for the scene shop and supervise student labor.
