Job summary

Indiana University South Bend's Theatre and Dance Department invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer in Theatre, Technical Design, to begin August 15, 2026. The appointee will teach courses within their specialty as well as general theatre offerings and will serve as Technical Director/Scene Shop Supervisor.

Responsibilities include mentoring students, building scenery, overseeing shop operations, and managing the scene shop budget.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher, or equivalent work experience.
• Theatre in Design and/or Technical Production; or related field with experience in theatre.
• Budgeting and time management skills.
• General computer skills and proficiency in Vectorworks.
• Professional production experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses within their specialty as well as general theatre courses.
• Technical Director responsibilities include mentoring students, building scenery, and overseeing the scene shop.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of scenic construction facilities and scene shop budget.
