Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu invites applications for a Visiting Professor of Chemistry. The appointment supports the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The role entails teaching undergraduate Chemistry and Biochemistry courses and laboratories, participating in curriculum development, advising students, and pursuing scholarship and professional development in alignment with Marianist mission and university policies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry required for Assistant Professor.
• Masters degree from a regionally accredited institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry required for Lecturer.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant teaching and/or research experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a combination thereof.
• Experience teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry and/or Physical Chemistry, with emphasis on Organic and Physical chemistry.
• Proficiency in using technology to support both in-class and online learning.

Responsibilities

• Teach the required workload credits per semester in the undergraduate programs.
• Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and scholarship.
• Advise students and participate in university and area committees.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry practices and technology; establish professional memberships.
