Job summary

Chaminade University of Honolulu is seeking a Visiting Professor of Chemistry to teach undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry courses, including laboratories, for the 2026-27 academic year.

The position requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry (or a Master’s for Lecturer) and involves curriculum development, advising, and service on university committees. The role emphasizes scholarship, professional development, and adherence to Marianist mission.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry is required.
• Masters Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Chemistry or Biochemistry.

Responsibilities

• Teach the required workload credits per semester in the undergraduate programs.
• Actively participate in School and University related activities and committees, the accreditation process, curriculum development and assessment, and scholarship, grant writing, research, publishing and participation in community service.
• Develop a professional development plan and demonstrate a trajectory that promotes scholarship, community service and life-long learning.
• Remain current in the latest industry practices, standards, equipment, research, and technology.
• Establish/maintain membership in professional societies and organizations.
