Salisbury University (SU) is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences to teach introductory cellular and molecular biology for biology majors and to contribute to the General Biology curriculum.

The successful candidate will engage in undergraduate research mentoring and provide service to the Department, School, University and community. The department emphasizes excellence in teaching and research and is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be expected to teach introductory cellular and molecular biology courses for biology majors and contribute to the General Biology curriculum. Engage in research including mentoring of undergraduate research projects. Provide service to the Department, School, University, and community.

Authority and Accountability

This faculty member reports to the chair of biological sciences, Dr. Elizabeth Emmert. This faculty member does not have budgetary responsibility or authority over other SU employees.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• PhD in a biological subdiscipline or related discipline with expertise in cellular biology, molecular biology, or microbiology.
• Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and research.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Successfully completed a post-doctoral experience.
