Job summary

YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Visitation Team Lead to oversee the Visitation Center’s daily operations and supervise visits for infants, toddlers, and children with their families.

The role requires an Associate degree in social work or related field (Bachelor’s preferred) and 2+ years in visitation or social work. You’ll work a 37.5-hour week, with some nights and weekend hours, and be part of a team focused on family services in Dauphin County.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in social work, human services or mental health field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in Visitation, Social Work, or Case Management.
• Proven ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with diverse backgrounds.
• Successful completion of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence training.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; database experience a plus.
• Must be a team player with professional demeanor.
• Availability for non-traditional hours including some nights and weekends.
• State Police, Child Abuse and FBI clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct client intakes/orientations for program participants.
• Provide monitored visitation services for families referred through the court system and Dauphin County Children and Youth.
• Document observations of the quality and content of the contact between child(ren) and family during visits.
• Maintain client files and casebook information in a timely and consistent manner.
• Prepare reports including recommendations for placement and changes to visitation plans.
• Intervene and terminate program services when necessary.
• Assist Chief Program Officer with preparation of funding reports and invoicing.
• Assist with development and distribution of community education brochures and/or materials.
• Testify in dependency or termination court hearings as necessary.
• Provide service data to Visitation Program Team Lead for billing and reporting purposes.
• Participate in continuing education and training on topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, substance abuse, anger management, and other relevant topics.
