Job summary

North Homes Children and Family Services in Bemidji, MN is hiring Visitation Monitors for the Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange (SVSE) Monitor Team. You will supervise visits and exchanges between parents and children, ensuring safety and documenting observations.

Positions available full-time, part-time, and casual/as-needed based on program needs. Starting pay is $20 per hour, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• Experience with children/families or human services preferred.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor visits and exchanges between the visiting parent(s) and child(ren).
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the child(ren).
• Report any suspected child abuse/neglect per mandated reporting requirements.
• Provide unbiased, objective documentation of visits.
• Intervene or end visits when program rules aren’t followed.
• Complete visit documentation within required timeframes.
• Conduct in-person or phone check-ins with families as scheduled.
• Communicate concerns with the Visitation Coordinator and Program Supervisor.
• Maintain building security and cleanliness.
• Follow all program and agency policies and procedures.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings.
