Job summary

The Town of Westminster, Vermont seeks a capable Town Manager to guide municipal operations, support the Select Board, and advance the Town’s 2026 Strategic Plan. Westminster is a rural Vermont community with a strong civic tradition and engaging residents.

The next Town Manager will lead budgeting efforts, supervise staff, and work closely with regional partners to deliver collaborative results and transparent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in municipal management, public administration, or related fields.
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
• Leadership and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of Vermont municipal law and governance (or ability to learn quickly)

Responsibilities

• Manage daily municipal operations with staff and resources.
• Implement Select Board policies and priorities.
• Prepare and administer the annual budget (current $3.6M).
• Oversee capital projects, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure transparent communication with residents and stakeholders.
