Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking an Executive Director in California to lead school vision, instructional leadership, and operations. You will oversee budgeting, staffing, and data-driven programs to accelerate student outcomes and ensure UC course approvals where applicable.

The role emphasizes anti-bias leadership, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration across leadership teams to drive school excellence and community partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or similar program is required.
• Teaching Credential in California or another US state is required.
• Administrative Credential in California or another US State is required.
• Prior experience in school leadership is required.
• Proficiency in Google Platforms (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Clear health and background check.

Responsibilities

• Create a school-based vision aligned with Summit Public Schools’ mission and lead stakeholders to implement it.
• Meet regularly with students, parents, and faculty to communicate and inspire around mission and vision.
• Ensure programs accelerate outcomes and provide instructional leadership and coaching.
• Oversee operations and budget with CFO, and manage audits and compliance.
• Foster anti-bias, anti-racist culture and cultivate relationships with stakeholders.
• Attend SPS Board meetings and develop partnerships with community partners.
