Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking an Executive Director for the California Candidate Pool. The role oversees all aspects of running a school, with instructional leadership and on-site operations.

The candidate will drive enrollment, culture, and budgetary governance while fostering anti-bias, anti-racist practices. The ideal candidate has proven school leadership experience, coaching ability, and familiarity with Summit Learning or personalized learning approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field required.
• Teaching Credential in California or another US state required.
• Administrative Credential in California or another US state required.
• Proficiency with Google platforms (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) required.

Responsibilities

• Create a school-based vision aligned with Summit Public Schools’ mission and ensure implementation.
• Lead and coach faculty and staff to achieve student outcomes and enrollment goals.
• Oversee school operations, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Foster anti-bias, anti-racist culture and strong stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborate with governance bodies and external partners to meet strategic goals.
• Ensure UC course approvals and testing plans are aligned with state standards.
